Excellence in Literature a Top 100 Educational Website for 2016
We are delighted to announce that Homeschool.com has named Excellence in Literature a Top 100 Educational Website for 2016 by Homeschool.com. Excellence-in-Literature.com is our sister website that hosts hundreds of context resources for the study of great literature.
If you haven’t visited visited the Excellence in Literature website, you might want to explore it. You will find a growing collection of carefully chosen art, music, author biographies, videos, essays and articles by teachers and college professors, and other resources. Many are included in the Excellence in Literature curriculum as context resources, but there are many additional items to support the study and teaching of literature and language arts, no matter what curriculum you use.
Here are a few samples of what you will find at the EIL website:
- Shakespeare resources, including an overview of the Renaissance, art, music, and videos.
- History Guide articles from Dr. Steven Kreis
- A growing collection of video reflections by Dr. Sebastian Mahfood on Dante’s Divine Comedy (There will be a video for every canto in the book when we get them all up!)
- Resources for studying ancient Greek literature
- Beautiful, professional recitations by Richard Austin of the poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins
We consistently add to the site, so be sure to check back often for new resources. If you have a suggestion for resources you’d like to see, please let us know!
